| The return of goods and/or services purchased via the Internet is governed by section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“the Act”). However, in terms of sections 42(2)(f) and 42(2)(h), both paper-based and electronic books are excluded from the operation of section 44. It follows that online retailers of books are not allowed to have a return policy, except one that refuses the return of purchased books. Consequently, books purchased through SUN-e-SHOP are non-returnable and no refunds will be issued. |
