This report is of a study of employment equity in the five higher education institutions in the Western Cape region, with a focus on race, gender and disability. This report follows on the pilot study undertaken in respect of the Stellenbosch University, which was concluded in 2002. The purpose of the report is to evaluate the successes and failures experienced by the sector in implementing the provisions of the Employment Equity Act, 1998 and other legislation, in the university and technikon settings. The period of the review is 2000 to end 2003.
